Thank you thank you thank you all for your support of the education and empowerment of our youth!! The event was again a success. This makes the 5th one and trust me they are going to keep going!!

On a personal note, providing information and HIV education is not just something that I do for a job, its a passion and a lifestyle. I appreciate everyone acknowledging that part of me and supporting this project. Special thanks to the ICON House of Ebony via Stan "TWIN" Ebony, the MYLIFE Project of YouthPride, and all the folks who came out!

We the folks for a better midtown are tired of the RACISM! BIGOTRY! SOCIAL CLEANSING! taking place in midtown and we will respond to this UNJUSTICE advocated by MIDTOWN NEIGHBORS' ASSOCIATION! MIDTOWN SECURITY ALLIANCE! MIDTOWN BUSINESS ALLIANCE! PIEDMONT PARK CONSERVANCY! These bigoted groups claim to be making midtown "better" which really means a golden ghetto for the rich and bigoted!
Folks who want a better direction for midtown should join us on August 30 at the Midtown Neighbors' Association meeting. They will meet at the Lutheran Church on Peachtree at 6:30 p.m.! LOOK FOR US AT 6:00 P.M. NEAR THIS CHURCH.
BRING YOUR SIGNS AND BANNERS! DO NOT BLOCK THE SIDEWALK, OBSTRUCT ENTRY TO THIS MEETING, OR TRY TO DISRUPT THE MEETING. JUST LET THESE BIGOTED FOLKS KNOW WE ARE HERE AND JUST WANT A BETTER MIDTOWN FOR ALL!
There will be more demonstrations in the future as we become better organized and find midown bigotry in action!
(1). Sept 10 at the Midtown Security Alliance Meeting at 7:00 p.m. They meet at the Mary Mac restaurant on Ponce. This is where homeowners in midtown rally for their bigotry under the name of a "safer" neighborhood.
(2). Every Sunday in Piedmont Park around 7:00 p.m starting on Sept. 2.
(3). In front of the homes of midtown leaders. TBA
(4). In front of the Midtown Business Alliance at 999 Peachtree Street. TBA
We DEMAND the following:
(1). An end to racism and bigotry in midtown! The systematic persecution of black & gay folks in Piedmont park and midtown must stop NOW! WE WANT RACISM AND BIGOTRY ERADICATED EVERYWHERE!
(2). An end to neighborhood groups bribing the Atlanta Police to advance their bigoted agenda! WE WANT EQUAL AND FAIR POLICE SERVICES EVERYWHERE!
(3). An end to gentrification and squeezing poor folks out of Atlanta! Midtown must not become another golden ghetto! WE WANT MORE PUBLIC HOUSING IN GOOD NEIGHBORHOODS!
(4). The city to restore funding to our homeless shelter! Our homeless folks do not deserve to be warehoused in the old jail! WE WANT MORE HOMELESS SHLETERS AND SERVICES IN GOOD NEIGHBORHOODS!
(5). Restoaration of midtown's vibrant nightlife scene! We miss Backstreet, the Armory, Vision, Velvet Room, Club Anytime, Metro, and Phoenix, and now Bulldogs, Blakes, and the Eagle are in danger! WE WANT MORE NIGHTLIFE IN GOOD PLACES!
(6). An end to neighborhood vigilantes harassing transgender citizens on the street and the false accusations of prostitution! WE WANT ALL PEOPLE WELCOME IN GOOD PLACES!
(7) An end to neighborhood vigilantes harassing homeless folks in Piedmont Park, Central Park, and other places where EVERYBODY has a right to be! WE WANT ALL PEOPLE WELCOME IN GOOD NEIGHBORHOODS!
(8). An end to city council siding with these neighborhood nazies! They are supposed to represent EVERYBODY, not just nazi homeowners who take it upon themselves to decide who is welcome in their neighborhood and who not! WE WANT ALL PEOPLE REPRESENTED IN ALL NEIGHBORHOODS, ESPECIALLY THE GLBT PEOPLE WHO THE MIDTOWN NEIGHBORS' ASSOCIATION ARE TRYING TO GET RID OF!
Please, if you care about your rights and dignity please join us at one of these demonstrations. From there we will organize and stand up for a better midtown. Together we can take midtown back to its glory days when ALL could afford to live here and back to a time when ALL were welcome here! Together we can form a MARCH ON MIDTOWN for a BETTER MIDTOWN!
